Go Dog GO!!!
Wellllll, what's new! The boys are getting bigger every day! I can't believe how big little Zaccy has gotten, he is now 8 weeks old, and so beautiful, he now pulls his head back so far when sitting on my knee it is like he is trying to sit by himself... And he giggles, smiles and goo's allthe time! And the faces he pulls, so FUNNY! He is so beautiful... He can really lift his head up now in the tummy position, but doesn't get much tummy time, as every time he is down there Harry somehow manages to fall on him or elbow him etc... Even with me sitting next to him playing guard!! The latest was when I was sitting on the floor feeding Zaccy, and Harry came barreling out of his room and his usual FULL SPEED! He managed to trip and fall and collect my shoulder and elbow and the top of poor Zac's head... Needless to say I spent the next couple of hours torturing Zac by trying to keep him awake and checking his pupils for signs of concussion (glad to report that it was unnecessary!)
Speaking of the bigger monster, well he has firmly hit the terrible 2's!! And started hitting me to go along with it... But apart from the occasional outburst he is still my beautiful angel boy (although I forget to tell him that as much these days! - it always seems to be 'gentle' or 'careful around the baby!')... But he is so smart, he is talking soooo well now! He will try saying anything we do! For instance he says SHIT with perfect connotation and just the right amount of inflection. He puts together sentences amazingly well now, we are just trying to teach him personal pro nouns like Me and You... He has just learnt to play snap, and I am in the middle of making snap cards with all the words he knows (which is an amazing amount when you sit down and think about them)... Anyway when you can't find Harry he is normally sitting in his room with his whole bookshelf down on the floor and reading to himself, but he only tends to get the main gist of the page and just makes the rest up, but he has a book that Aunt Kelly gave him called "One Lucky Duck" and I read it to him every night, it's is one of those books that has a number at the top of each page and then goes on with the poem part about the slippy sloppy farm etc.. So I always ask Harry "What's that number?" then when he gets it right I cheer, and then start the poem... Which goes on for every page, 1 lucky duck, 2 happy hens etc! So after my 4th run through of the book for that day I was tired of reading it, so asked Harry to read it back to me... And to my amazement he would start each page exactly how I did, asking "What's that number?", and cheer when I would answer him... Then he would talk about the slippy sloppy farm and the
unlucky duck and whatever animals that page depicted... I will try to get some video footage of it up for you!
Also we were out tonight, and we have been teaching Harry about road safety, for example you look right, then left and right again, and the little green man and red man! As we have explained that Red means STOP and green means GO!! (with the help of Dr Seuss's Go Dog Go) So now when there is a green light we all shout Go Dog Go, and Stop Dog Stop for the red.... Anyway
standing at the lights waiting for the little green man to go... And waiting, and waiting and waiting... And a young girl (early 20's) just decides to walk as there are no cars coming, obviously much to Harrison's horror, as he starts shouting out to her "TO FAST!! TO FAST!!" and not
quietly either, as Phil put it he obviously isn't shy! But it was so cute that I wish I could have caught it on camera...
He has also taken a liking to bathing in Zaccy's bath! Which he is way too big for, but that doesn't stop him, and I figure it saves water, so what the hell...
Well it is late, and I should be sleeping, so I'm off to bed to snuggle up with the little monster! (the big one being in bed with Daddy!) I will try to keep you updated more regularly, but must admit to having a definite lack of time these days!!
