Super Genius Harrison

Well, I know you are all thinking biased mother with that comment there but you would not believe how quick he is moving through some of those milestones (well in my opinion)... Firstly he could roll from back to front since he was 7 weeks old, to which the health nurse thought would have just been a fluke due to excess wiggling and I shouldn't expect it again too soon - but I assured her that he does it every time I try to put him on his belly - hence my new purchase of the tummy time toy you can see him playing with... (and the nurse said he was very young to be doing so) - according to the occupational therapist that gave a talk to my mothers group this is normally a sign that they don't like being on their belly (but we must persist on putting him down for supervised play like this to strengthen his back muscles for crawling etc...)...

He has also mastered the art of turning onto his side from his back (he has done this since about 5 weeks when he had wind pain, but I figure you can't really count a pain reflex as a milestone, but he now does it purposefully with his eye on getting to his toys etc) so I'm hoping its just a matter of time before he can roll from back to front... Here he used his little side roll trick to turn himself nearly 180 degrees so he could see the TV and reach the ducks (not sure if the ducky was just an added bonus as his first love seems to be the TV)... When I put him down he was lying so his head was somewhere near the top of the mat (where his feet are in this pic) sneaky little munchkin...

He seems to be mastering the art of moving his arms as well, he will reach out and grasp things (and seems to love wiggling his fingers, it's like a constant game of twinkle little star) and he has learnt if he bumps the ducky he jingles... Another trick he learnt with his Daddy just last night was pulling himself up into a full sitting position... You let him sit partially reclined on your lap (back to your stomach), and he grasps your fingers and pulls himself upright into a sit... Very cute, we will have to start putting some of the video footage up here...

Well that is today's little update, I would say I'm off to vacuum the house but I have passed on my sickness to Daddy who is all curled up in bed looking like death warmed up... (and I remember how bad I felt the first day I came down with it)... So we are trying to be bery bery quiet.... Aren't we Master Harrison.... :P Well it's the thought that counts surely...
