For anyone who wants to know. Here are the stats that we know so far!
Name: Blobby (Working Title)
Age: 7 Weeks 1 Day +- 5 Days
DOB: 4 May 2006 (Taurus)
Heart Rate : 113 Beats per Minute (normal we are told)
Length: 1.15cm
We have no names for it yet other than "blobby" its hard picking a name. They have to have this name for the rest of their life(unless they change it). You have to make sure the name is not one that can be shortened to something like "Big Mac"
More info when we know it. More Picture when I have them.
A few notes from me:
It is very cool the "Ultra sound machine" you could see the Heart beating, even this early. If you looked really hard you could almost make out the stump for a hand. They measure from tip to tip of the baby and the machine tell them how old it is. I think this is also based on the date of your last period but I like to believe the machine knows it all. Trust in the machines!
I read the other day that this generation will start living to 130+ due to the fact that we have such good medical technology. I just hope that if we can extend life out to that age we are not all crusty and wrinkly and cant get around. Maybe they will sort it out and we will live to 130+ looking like we do at 25 and the one day just drop dead. I think that would be better than getting frail and wrinkly. (I have a thing on wrinkles).
Anyway we are happy to announce that everything is going well in the baby growing department. Jodi is not feeling sick in the morning(yet) seems to be taking it quite well. I have finished reading
"Up the Duff" or
"A Bun in the oven"(if you live in America) by Kaz cooke. I have to say it was the Funniest book I have read about pregnancy, well I have only read one book so far. I highly recommend it if you want to get the basics. It give you more books to read for a more information so I guess I will be doing more reading :)
It seems a bit scary some of the things that you
a) prepare for
b) have to go through
Then there is the extra things you have to think about like making sure you have a safe home, making sure you have the right gear, making sure you have the manual that comes with the baby.(I'm told they hand these out at the delivery room. Only the guys get them! Our secret)
I have started to help prepare for the extra work that Jodi will have to go through. I started by cleaning the house. (Those that know me will know how much of a shock that is). I will endeavor to make sure that i do not slack off and make her do it all (happy dad!).
Well off to bed now! Will have to share some more with the world tomorrow as the Wifey needs a massage :)
